A supporting tool from the Orthogonal blog
TypeFast is a browser snippet notebook: save reusable non-sensitive text, find it again, and copy it when needed. It is not a system-wide text-expansion service or a confidential document store.
When it fits
Store, search, and copy reusable text snippets in a browser.
Titles, categories, snippet bodies, search, filtering, and clipboard copy. It is not a system-wide text expander.
Start with a small example
- Create a snippet with a title, category, and non-sensitive content.
- Use search or the category controls to find it, then copy the text.
- Keep any important content backed up elsewhere before clearing browser data or changing devices.
Limits to understand
Snippets are stored in unencrypted browser localStorage. Clearing site data can remove them, and another browser profile does not automatically receive them. Do not store passwords, customer records, private keys, or material your organization does not permit in a browser notebook.
Input processing and privacy
Snippets stay in unencrypted browser localStorage. Google AdSense and Cloudflare Analytics still load.
Local processing is not a promise of zero network requests. Read the privacy policy and use non-sensitive examples unless you have independently reviewed the application.
